This week's tip: Practice using scissors this week. Teach your child how to make different types of cuts such as curves, short lines, and long lines. Remember that cutting skills take lots of practice to learn!

Inside and outside voices. Kindergartners may need frequent reminders about when they need to be quiet. Give your children the opportunity to be loud at times, such as when they're outside playing. Once they are inside, speak in whispers and gradually bring your volume level up to help remind children to return to their indoor voice volume.

Let's count to 8! Spiders have eight legs. Let's sing the Itsy Bitsy Spider together.


💡 Play time tip! Draw a picture of a spider, and count together to make sure it has 8 legs. Then cut out the spider and use it to act out the rhyme "The Itsy Bitsy Spider."
