This week's tip: Play I-Spy to help your child understand how to use descriptive language. Simply pick out something that both you and your child can see in the area around you, then say, "I spy with my little eye something..." and describe the color, size, or other attributes of the item. This is a great time to introduce some new vocabulary too!

Tying shoes. Don't worry if you don't have this skill perfected before kindergarten. Start teaching it now, and soon your child will pick it up. It can be difficult to practice tying shoes when they’re on your feet. Have your child place a shoe on a table so they can see what they’re doing up close.

Numbers: 6 (six)

Let's sing a song about the number six! The Count from Sesame Street loves numbers -- can you stomp your feet six times to the beat of the song?

💡 Play time tip! Fill a ziplock bag with shaving cream or lotions, seal it, then practice writing the letter six and drawing 6 dots or 6 shapes on the outside of the bag.
