Q is for QUAIL

Join children's librarian Miss Julie as she helps your young reader learn all about the letter Q. Draw along with our fun video!

The letter Q is also for QUIET!

This week's tip: Have your child compare things. Which do you think is heavier, a cookie or 10 chocolate chips? Who is taller, mom or dad? Which carrot is longer? These skills will come in handy with measuring and math concepts!

Sing

My Hat It Has Three Corners: We're learning the number 3 today! Follow along with the lyrics.

Sing it

Play

Quacks & Co.: Q is also for QUACK! It's race day, and with the right food and some luck, you will ride your mount to victory and claim the golden cauldron.

Play it

Quiet

Does your child understand when to be quiet and when to talk? Listening to directions before asking questions can be a big task for kindergartners. Help at home by making eye contact before giving directions. Remind them that they will have a time to speak when you are finished talking.

Numbers: 3 (three)

Can you count to three? Help your child practice counting to three. Line up three things, point to each and count, 1, 2, 3. Try counting backwards, too!

💡 Play time tip! Retell the 3 Little Pigs story using these printable puppets. Encourage your child to create their own version of the story.

We hope you have fun this week! We'll be back next week with the letter R.
