This week's tip: The next time you're cooking or baking, invite your child into the kitchen to help! When they practice following simple steps at home, it makes it easier for kids to follow directions at school later.

Sing

The Dance Freeze Song: Dance, freeze is another great way to learn about following simple directions!

Don't Judge

Can you blow your nose? Colds and allergies happen during the school year -- it's important for kids to know how to blow their own nose. To help with this skill, have your healthy child stand in front of a mirror, pinch one nostril closed, then blow air through the other nostril to see how much fog they can make. Once they master this, hand them a tissue to keep practicing.

Shapes: Square

What is a square? A square is a shape that has four sides that are all the same length, and four corners. Try counting the sides and corners together.

💡 Play time tip! Homes are usually full of square shapes. Ask your child to look around and see how many things they can find that are shaped like a square.

We hope you have fun this week! We'll be back next week with the letter L.
