Solar Eclipse Facts with an Astrophysicist

Thursday, March 21 | 5:30 pm | Liberty Branch Library

On April 8, Delaware County will experience the totality of a solar eclipse. Join local astrophysicist Don Stevens who will tell us all about it - along with stargazing and telescopes! Stevens joined the staff of Perkins Observatory in 2003 after seven years as a volunteer. He runs the 32" telescope, gives astronomy and science lectures, takes care of the observatory, and runs public programs. Don’t miss out – the next total solar eclipse in Ohio won’t happen until 2099!

Outdoor Banner

In this How-To session we'll look at the process of making a custom outdoor banner, from your design idea to the creation and layout of your graphics to the completion of the project. There is no hands-on portion to the class. The goal of this demonstration is to introduce the entire process from start to finish to give you a sense of what's required to do this yourself.

Join NAMI Mid-Ohio at DCDL for "In Our Own Voice." Leaders with lived experience talk openly and honestly about what it's like to live with a mental health condition. You'll have the opportunity to ask leaders questions, allowing for a deeper understanding of mental health conditions and ending the stigma around mental illness, one conversation at a time.

Understanding Alzheimer's and Dementia

Thursday, March 14 | 6 pm

Join the Alzheimer's Association for information on the difference between Alzheimer’s and dementia, including stages, risk factors, research and FDA-approved treatments. The Alzheimer’s Association® provides care and support to those affected by Alzheimer’s and all other dementia through free, high-quality education programs. Registration is required.
