Native Plant Swap

Liberty Branch Library

Fall is a great time for splitting plants that have grown too large, and for planting new ones for spring. Bring those you want to swap to Liberty Branch. All native plants and indoor plants are welcome. Please label your plants accordingly and with the species of the plant (scientific name if applicable). A space will be set up on the second floor across from the balcony on the long wooden table.

Maximize Life

Minimize Risk, Maximize Life is a course for adults who would like to learn about reducing the risk of problems related to alcohol consumption, either for themselves or their loved ones. Experts from Delaware Public Health District will help participants think differently about their alcohol use and consider what might be gained through adopting low-risk drinking choices.

September Focus: Genealogy Research

Have you shied away from DNA tests, but still wish you knew a little more about your roots? We have the answer: use the genealogy resources available at DCDL! While registration is required, FamilySearch provides free family history and genealogy records from over 100 countries, tools for organizing and sharing family history, along with research assistance and guidance. Ancestry Library Edition can only be accessed inside the library, but it delivers billions of records in census data, vital records, directories, photos, and more from countries all over the world.  We have many other resources available to our patrons, including Heritage Quest, HeritageHub, the Delaware County Memory Project, Mid-Ohio Genealogy Database, Ohio Memory, and more; you'll find all of them on our website on our Research page!

OWU Lifelong Learning Institute

Registration opens August 28 | OWU

Examine ideas, acquire knowledge and fuel your curiosity as part of the Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI). Working collaboratively with several Delaware-area organizations, the LLI of OWU offers a variety of programs to inform, entertain, and challenge intellectually curious adults ages 55+. Registration is $75; scholarships are available.

Youth Alzheimer's Conversations

Families with young learners are invited to this session to learn how to maintain connections with the cherished older adults in their lives who are living with memory concerns like Alzheimer's and dementia.
