In a highly engaging "fireside chat," Orange will delve into his writing process, including the themes of Native American culture and history that inform his works. End of Life Series: After-Death Natural Alternatives

Join us at Orange Branch Library Community Room as author and End-of-Life Doula Jacki Mann discusses burial options and the movement toward more natural means for after-death care of the body. Myths will be dispelled, and information will be provided about these alternatives. Jacki will also be giving away a copy of her book, "Attending to the End," to one lucky attendee!

Understanding Alzheimer's and Dementia

November 3 | 11 am
Experts from the Alzheimer's Association will be at Delaware Main Library to lead a presentation discussing the difference between Alzheimer's and dementia. Attendees will also learn about the impact of Alzheimer's, stages and risk factors, current research and treatments, and available resources. The Maker Studio:
Laser Cut Ornaments

November 17 | 5:30 pm
Registration for this popular class opens November 3 -- act quickly to save your seat! Join us in the Maker Studio to learn how to create your own unique wooden ornament. Working from a variety of styles and options, students will design their custom ornament, and then prepare their file for the laser cutter/engraver. Participants will leave with their personalized ornament -- free of charge!

November Focus: Delaware County Veterans History Project

If you, a relative or someone you know has served in any branch of the armed forces, and has a connection with Delaware County, we would love to hear from you! Delaware County Veterans and Heroes is a project of DCDL which seeks to gather, preserve and make accessible the experiences of all county veterans. Please consider sharing your stories, photos, and records with our historians via our website. We’re also excited to partner again this year with the National Veterans Memorial and Museum to honor central Ohio’s Veterans; show your library card this November 1 through December 31 to receive a discounted admission rate of $11 each for up to four tickets.

Veterans Day Breakfast

November 11 @ 8:30 am | Delaware County Fairgrounds | Honor our Veterans at the 13th Annual Veterans Day Breakfast & Ceremony presented by the Delaware County Veterans Association and featuring guest speaker Major General (Ret.) Mark Bartman. Breakfast is free for veterans and one guest. Reservations are required; please register by November 1.
