Author Tommy Orange

Orange Branch Library

Tommy Orange is the author of the New York Times bestselling novel There There, a story about a side of America few of us have ever seen: the lives of urban Native Americans. There There was one of The New York Times Book Review’s 10 Best Books of the Year, and won the Center for Fiction’s First Novel Prize and the Pen/Hemingway Award. In a highly engaging "fireside chat," Orange will delve into his writing process, including the themes of Native American culture and history that inform his works. Registration for this popular class opens November 3 -- act quickly to save your seat! Join us in the Maker Studio to learn how to create your own unique wooden ornament. Working from a variety of styles and options, students will design their custom ornament, and then prepare their file for the laser cutter/engraver. Participants will leave with their personalized ornament -- free of charge!

November Focus: Delaware County Veterans History Project
Delaware County Veterans and Heroes
If you, a relative or someone you know has served in any branch of the armed forces, and has a connection with Delaware County, we would love to hear from you! Delaware County Veterans and Heroes is a project of DCDL which seeks to gather, preserve and make accessible the experiences of all county veterans. Please consider sharing your stories, photos, and records with our historians via our website. We’re also excited to partner again this year with the National Veterans Memorial and Museum to honor central Ohio’s Veterans; show your library card this November 1 through December 31 to receive a discounted admission rate of $11 each for up to four tickets.
